Meditation. How to Meditate? Become a great modern day saint.

Have you ever done meditation? If yes, how often? or how do you meditate? But if you don’t, Why didn’t you do it? Does it seem boring? Well, let me tell you that it just requires you, your mindfulness, and a quiet place.

Meditation has been practiced in India for thousands of years as people knew it was very beneficial for their Mental and Spiritual health.

Meditating regularly will help you calm your mind and reduce stress, lowers Blood pressure, boosts hormones, increases learning speed and capacity and helps you maintain a balanced lifestyle.

From the biggest of cooperatives to the smallest of salesmen, anyone can perform meditation. Yes, Anyone can Meditate.

No matter how depressed and anxious he/she is or how calm and happy he/she already is. It just requires a quiet place, you and your Mindfulness at the present moment.

Mindful meditation is something which can be mastered after regular practice and demands your complete attention of mind at the present moment without any judgment.

(You know, wondering what happens there? Why are cars honking at five o clock outside your house and other stuff you hear while you meditate.)

Mindfulness doesn’t mean you should be excessively active or overthinking about what’s going on around at the present moment.

It just means that you have grabbed that whole attention towards the present moment. Just observing it. That’s what you call Mindful and proper meditation.

Mindful Meditation increases focus and concentration, reduces multiple thinking, reduces overthinking, reduces multiple thinking, reduces heart disease, lowers blood pressure, relieves stress, Improve sleep, and reduces chronic pain also.

“To understand the immeasurable, the mind must be extraordinarily quiet, still.”Jiddu Krishnamurti

How can meditation change your life

Meditation can bring a huge change in your life if you’re not already meditating. A Person who does not meditate will be benefited from life-changing aspects.

1. It will help you stay calm

Even in an argument or a fight or any such nervous situation like that. Situations like that happen in our day to day life and what we do is get angry, or frustrated.

But what we really need to is stay calm and patient especially in those conditions as we need to think maturely, so that in the aftertaste, we don’t regret our actions and decisions we took during the argument/fight.

2. You will be more mature with your decisions.

Whether they are life’s careers or even day to day decisions. You won’t be attracted to materialistic objects in this world anymore.

Being mature with your life decisions, career decisions and day to day decisions over choices mean you are securing your future by now.

These small decisions of today will have a larger impact in the future.

3. It will change your perspectives for the world.

Yes, it will change your perspectives on the world in a positive yet conscious manner. You will start thinking in a good manner.

Resistance among unimportant, unpleasant people, things will certainly increase with its constant practice.

Meditation

QualiTies you must have

Yup, there are some qualities, that we must have to do a proper meditation.

These qualities not only help us in meditative purposes, but they also help us in our day to day goals and achievements too.

Patience

Patience is the ability to deal with delays, annoyances, rejections, and setbacks without losing your cool or getting all freaked up.

It has nothing to do with waiting and it also has nothing to do with being passive.

Patience is the level of endurance one can have before negativity. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast.

Huh, In my early teen years, Patience in my life meant that it was some way to miss out on the things I want to achieve and I thought it was a waste of time.

But my perspectives about it changed when I was scolded by my father for not having patience. I can tell you that was a lot deep, the scolding was a thing that was very effective for me and my dad knew it.

After that, it was just like that I know patience is important, not the value of it. The real value came when I decided and told him to buy me a guitar.

He sat a condition that I completed and that was the first time I valued patience as I waited patiently and when it arrived, that happiness is unexplainable.

Consistency

Consistency is about building small empowering habits and rituals that you partake in every single day that keep you focused on your highest priorities and goals.

Consistency is all about repetition. It’s about repeating the same actions again and again. So, you adjust your plans according to the feedback you get.

It is something that people find difficult to stay consistent because there are just too many distractions going here and there.

People are simply not focused, committed, or disciplined enough to stick with something in the short-term for long-term results.

Consistency is something that we all require in any field, whether it’s your business, your goal progression, life routines, etc.

Being consistent in meditation means you are achieving great practice and experience and this consistency is something that is really demanded in terms to master it.

Stability

Only a stable mind can help you out to achieve the strength to provide stability in the various aspects. Whether be in relationships, business, life, or in meditation.

There must be stability in your meditation too as meditation does require stability in terms of depth it. It should not fluctuate which our environment does and that is why we should always perform meditation in a very quiet place.

“Meditation is like a gym in which you develop the powerful mental muscles of calm and insight.”Ajahn Brahm

How to meditate

Sit down in a quiet place, close your eyes, and observe the present moment for 2-5 mins. Yes, this is the basic tip to meditate.

It might sound easy but as you start meditating, it becomes harder when you start performing it, and do you know the reason why?

It’s because our mind doesn’t focus on the present mindfully at that time. We easily get distracted as our mind starts thinking of someone else, some places or starts framing different stories.

But as I told you above, that after constant practice, the distractions will disappear after time.

Things like Overnight-master don’t exist. So, stay patient and constant with your meditation.

So yeah, meditation starts like that, it’s you, a quiet place, and your mind, body, and soul in rest.

Tips to meditate like a Yogi

A Silent Place and your attention + interest in meditation are all it takes to become a yogi. Becoming a yogi is not as easy as it sounds.

You have to do meditation regularly, your dedication and interest in it, gaining more and more experience in it, and finding your energies will surely make you a yogi.

Do it in a very silent place

It will let you stay focused on the present moment a lot better than how you will

Never skip more than 1 day

If you are skipping days while reaching out to a goal, then don’t expect results. Skipping one day is also not appropriate but still, if some very important work is there, then you can skip one day.

But skipping more than one day is like walking 7 steps away from your destination which would now take more days to recover than it did to build it before skipping.

Remember you have to be consistent in terms of your accomplishments and their journeys. Otherwise, it’s not going to help you.

Just like you workout for maintaining physical fitness, you have to maintain your mental and spiritual health to make them function properly.

Yes, it is important to be consistent in it otherwise, chances are that you won’t see the change in you.

Get some knowledge about it

Gather as much information about it as you can through the internet, books, podcasts, The Voguish Males (huh… just kidding), People (Only some trustable people who are already performing meditation.)

The more you know the better you do. By gathering more knowledge, you tend to become more confident about it. You start knowing stuff you never thought existed, (in any field).

It provides you the necessity plus pros and cons about it. It just helps you become more conscious about how to do and how not to meditation

Never show off your Yogic nature

We all know that showing off was never a gentleman thing. Showing off your power might fail as you become over-confident about it by showing it off.

Showing off your yogic nature would not influence others. Instead, it will make them question whether you are a yogi or not.

Think of what yogi is, is it that he does only yoga/meditation stuff. No, He follows the path of truth, he possesses admirable qualities that a lot of people in this world require.

He believes in God and has faith in God. He doesn’t expect anything from God. He stays grateful and happy with what he’s got.

But staying happy and grateful with what he’s got doesn’t stop him from attaining anything more.
